A Game About Breaking Pots

A game about the satisfying feeling of smashing pots.

This was a short 2 month project I made to explore terrain and level creation. I wanted to create a castle enviroment that could slowly be explored. By breaking pots you can upgrade your characters speed, jump height and smashing power. With these upgrades more areas of the castle can be explored and more pots can be smashed.

The game is mostly meant to be a relaxing experience. Therefore I spend quite some time getting the ambiance and sound effects just right.

To make the game run on Steam Deck I had to do some optimisation tricks likes occlusion culling, also disabling areas that weren’t close to the player. Texture optimisation to reduce file size. With this I was able to create a dense castle environment without having to sacrifice on object density.
