Flippen is a classic 2D gravity platformer that requires focus, precise timing and quick thinking. The player needs to survive in a corrupted virus driven world, by defying gravity through a series of obstacle courses.

History

Picture this: you're a developer working on a game and you have no idea if it's any good. What do you do? The obvious answer is letting people play it. But how? In the case of Glenn Verheij, a graduating student from the University of the Arts Utrecht, he asked random people while traveling in a train to play his prototype. For Glenn it was the best way to get feedback, even though it felt pretty weird at first. "After a while you just turn a mental switch off and realize that it's not about you, but it's about showing your game," Glenn said. "That made me feel much more comfortable with showing people my work. Letting random people I didn't know play Flippen was awkward, but what became even more awkward was the fact that people became addicted after a very short amount of playtime. They were so hooked in finishing a new level that they refused to return the phone! One time I had to leave the train and someone walked with me while playing!" This made Glenn realize there's an audience for Flippen and the general flow of the game is largely inspired by these play sessions. Glenn committed 7 months to the development of Flippen and is now set to release on September 4th for iOS, Android, PC and Mac.
